Spotter Recap: ComicCon Revolution, Ontario California

Hello Spotters! Back for another exciting installment of Spotter Recap!

This past week (May 17 and 18th, 2025) Gambit Spotting Blogger PunkerDuckie attended Comicon Revolution in Ontario, California!

While this year was more focused on the DC-Verse with appearances by nearly the entire Smallville Cast as well as several other movie Supermen, there was a nice showing of Marvel artists who have worked on recent and past comics featuring our favorite Cajun.

First off, on Saturday in Artist Alley we met with Todd Nauck, the artist on last years X-Men 97 comic run (among many, many others).

Todd was amazing and in high demand for autographs. He was also selling several limited edition X-Men group prints including this bad boy which we picked up without hesitation. His style is a unique take on the crew.

We then met with local California artist Kevin Tran, who was selling his works in the main hall. He had some Gambit individual prints as well as this limited group featuring the X-Men 97' character set (and Psylocke!)

On Sunday, GambitSpotting met with artist Chris Bachalo, who worked on several runs including Gambit (including Uncanny X-Men in the late 1990s, and X-Men, Uncanny, and Ultimate X-Men in the early 2000's) He is perhaps best known for being a co-creator of Generation X with Scott Lobdell.

Chris did a remarque for us on his 2nd printing Gambit Variant Cover for X-Men 200. We spent quite awhile discussing the "Remyssance" and we passed along a Gambit Spotting sticker pack to him.

We also picked up this amazing print by artist Donny D Tran in Artist Alley. This black and white print (except the eyes) is a great stylistic choice and there was no way we were leaving without him. There's two easter eggs hidden on the print as well, if you can spot them. (Hint, look at the playing card)

Overall the weekend was on the lighter side for Gambit Spotting, but there was still some excellent art and we were able to meet several fabulous artists!

Until next time.
