Welcome to the Gambit Guide - A Reading Guide for Gambit (Remy LeBeau) in the Prime Marvel Universe (616) and offshoot alternate realities.
This Gambit Guide is a long-term group research effort by the Gambit Spotters, with supporting data gathered from comics, Marvel Unlimited Digital Releases, the Marvel Database, Fandom.com, the Complete Marvel Reading Order, and Gambit Guild.
The purpose of this project is to compile Gambit's comics appearances by decade in a roughly release-date chronological manner, grouping major arcs together for the best readability. Any AU appearances will also be added in, as close to the era where they occurred, chronologically. While not perfect, we hope to develop a comprehensive guide for readers to follow which allows them to catch our favorite Cajun and his variants in a read-thru from his first appearances through the modern era.
Additionally, issues are color-coded based on the level of appearance of Gambit in each comic.
Green Highlighted Text = Lead appearance- Lead, Co-Lead, appears on multiple pages, drives plot or has significant dialogue.
Blue Highlighted Text = Supporting Appearance - Appears on some pages, contributes to plot, or has some dialogue
Yellow Highlighted Text = Limited Appearance- Appears on one page or less, only seen in background or a wallpaper appearance, mentioned by other characters only.
Orange Highlight Indicates a variant, clone, or alternate universe/reality Gambit diverging from on converging with 616.
This reading guide will be the basis of our "Gambit Guide" read-through and issue discussion on the Gambit Spotting Podcast. It will be updated as we go along, so that Gambit fans new and old can join us as we progress through the listed issues.
The Gambit Guide is still very much a work in progress. Due to the fluid nature of the comic universe, there may be periodic additions to the guide and slight changes to reading order/levels.
